Job Purpose
To ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of electricity distribution systems to guarantee reliable power delivery. The Technician – O&M is responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting faults, and executing repairs in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Key Result Areas
1.Routine Maintenance
•Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and distribution lines.
•Identify potential issues and take corrective actions to prevent system failures.
2.Fault Diagnosis and Repair
•Troubleshoot faults in the distribution network and implement timely repairs.
•Document faults and repair activities for future reference and analysis.
3.Operational Support
•Support operations by monitoring system performance and responding to network incidents.
•Assist in switching operations and system restorations during outages.
4.Compliance and Safety
•Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards during maintenance and repair activities.
•Conduct job hazard assessments and ensure the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
5.Record Keeping
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, fault reports, and inventory usage.
•Update maintenance logs and provide periodic reports to supervisors.
6.Stakeholder Engagement
•Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers during maintenance and repair operations.
•Address customer complaints related to network issues promptly and professionally.
7.Tools and Equipment Management
•Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
•Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment for repair or replacement.
8.Emergency Response
•Participate in emergency response teams to restore services during natural disasters or major outages.
•Be available for on-call duties and rapid response to urgent network issues.
9.Continuous Improvement
•Identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices and propose solutions.
•Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
10.Other Duties

Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
•Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
•At least 1 years of hands-on experience in operations and maintenance within the electricity distribution sector.
Competencies
•Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and equipment.
•Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
•Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in the electricity sector.
•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
