Job Purpose
Responsible for the capture of network asset data in line with approved standards and data collection plan to aid processes of operations and project planning and execution.


Key Resulta Areas
1.To capture and update network asset data.
2.Detailed Inspection as per plan of the status and condition of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage network assets.
3.Identify and Report on high-risk hazards on the Networks
4.Responsible and accountable for allocated resources.
5.Provide basic recommendations and necessary corrective actions, based on findings on the ground.
6.Conduct field surveys and Scoping for network investment planning and projects execution.
7.Capture new lines and network additions.
8.Facilitate surveys for schemes.
9.Preparation of periodic reports.


Expected Outputs
•Accurate and well-maintained network GIS data and records on the GIS system Database
•Capture geospatial data in relation to the network.
•Facilitate or generate GIS maps and drawings resulting from surveys.
•Meeting Targets assigned to be done in a given time frame


Person Specifications
Minimum Academic Qualifications

•Diploma in Electrical Engineering


Experience
•At least 2 years’ experience in power distribution industry preferably in operations and maintenance
•Experience in Field Mobile GIS data capture using handhelds based on Esri ArcPad and Specialised Android accompanying workflows.


Competencies
•Excellent understanding of the Electricity distribution network Infrastructure.
•Readiness to be deployed to any part of the country.
•Good IT Skills
•Good reporting skills


Work Environment
The role involves mainly field based tasks. The role involves working in varying weather conditions and requires adherence to strict safety standards when dealing with equipment. The position may also require after-hours work.
