UEDCL seeks the service of data analysts with a background in financial accounting as well as extensive experience in handling huge volumes of data. The company has embarked on a project to reconstruct her distribution asset register and a major component of this project shall be reconciliation of the respective assets data.
The company is desirous of utilizing the skills of experts to reconcile the registers of the leased assets between the lessor and the lessee based on the company audited financial statements on an annual basis for the period beginning March 2005 to December 2022.
Scope of work:
- Reconcile the physical verification data from the company GIS to the company fixed asset register as per audited financial statements and the company accounting system record.
- Identify any gaps or inconsistencies from the reconciliation process and prepare comprehensive variance reports to Management.
- Provide monthly progress update reports to the Manager Financial Accounting for the duration of the reconciliation exercise.
- Advice the Manager Financial Accounting on any identified asset management risks and make proposals to assure the completeness of the records going forward.
Key Deliverables:
The analyst will deliver:
- Monthly progress update reports.
- Final comprehensive reconciliation report.
Assignment period:
The project shall last six (6) months.
Assignment management and administration:
The analysts shall report to the Manager – Financial Accounting for the day-to-day operational activities.
Qualification criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting).
- A member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda – ICPAU.
- A minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience as a data or business data analyst with a bias in financial accounting.
- Sound, practical experience using statistical packages for analysis such as Ms Excel, SPSS, etc.
